Yesterday, the Fox C-6 community had the opportunity to directly influence the education of Fox C-6 students for years to come. We are thrilled to report that Proposition M passed with 65% voter approval, 7.86 percentage points above the 57/14% threshold required to approve a bond.
This wasn’t just a vote for a bond issue. It was a vote of confidence in our students and our school community. By supporting Prop M, you made an investment in the long-term success of our students and the strength of our community.
The passage of Proposition M will allow the district to:
Maintain our Schools
- Upgrade aging roofs at facilities around the district
- Upgrade aging HVAC systems at facilities around the district.
Modernize our Safety Measures
- Install lockdown-capable classroom door hardware at all school buildings
- Install additional exterior door access controls and door monitors at all school buildings
- Install an emergency notification system at all school buildings
Manage our Resources
- Pay off the existing lease for Antonia Middle School and multiple school buses
In the coming weeks, district officials will begin planning the scope of work for all Prop M projects. Please keep in mind that many projects won’t begin until 2027, due to the nature of bond sales and project planning. The District is committed to providing regular project updates at board meetings and on the Prop M section of the district website throughout the course of the bond project.
